Biking

Talofa Lava bloggers, welcome to another blog post. Today I would like to share with you when I did biking On Tuesday.  On Tuesday we did biking because it was raining we had to wear a raincoat. We had two Coaches, John and I forgot the other coaches name. They were going to teach us how to bike. But first we had to put a helmet on because safety first. We used the four S' to help us. The Four S' were Straps, Shell, Styrofoam and Stickers. After we put our helmets on  we split into two groups whether you thought you weren't that good at biking and when you feel like your a pro and you can bike with taking both your hands of the handle. I chose that I was one of the pros because I've rode a bike before and lets just say that I can accelerate really fast... Anyways I was with John and he chose a bike for all of us. We were gonna bike but first we needed to check our ABCDQ which is a way to make sure that your bike is safe to use.

A is for Air which means you had to check your air in your tires so its all pumped up. B is for Breaks and make sure its when you press it your bike stops, C is for Chain and you make sure your chain is working and its not dirty, D is for drop and you have to hold your back tire and drop it. Do it a couple of times to make sure its making the same sound, If it didn't we had to go and get another bike, and Q is for Quick releases, We had to make sure all of our quick releases were there. There were 3 in total. I can only remember one which was on the seat. You could use it adjust your seat, After that we finally got to biking, The first thing we did was just ride on the grass because the bikes we had were dirt bikes. We went along the grass for a little bit and then we went back to the concrete and then we started to ride around in circles. Then our coach told us when he says red light you have to use your breaks and you couldn't do skids. He said to keep two fingers on the breaks and the other three on your handle bars. We did that a few times and I got the hang of it after a little bit. After that we tested if we could use our breaks on the grass and not do skids. Which is like a lot harder than on the concrete.

Then we went back on the concrete and did a slow race. We did a race but whoever came last won. We did 2 races and I didn't win either of them. I came 4th. Then we did another race but we went on the grass and we went around this blue thing you climbed on and came back. I came 4th again. Then we got into pairs and had to bike and then clap our partners hand. I got the hang of it after a few tries. Then we talked about signs. We learned how to do the right sign which meant you were turning right and the left sign which meant you were turning left and the stop sign which meant the people on your right had to stop. Then we got into 2 groups of four and we started racing. I was racing Jacob and our first race he was far ahead of me but I caught up with him. Then the other race he bet me cause I was too tired to pedal, Plus my lace got stuck in the pedal. After that we had lunch. Then we had our second session. We basically just practiced our signals then played a game.

Skateboarding

Skateboarding
Talofa lava bloggers, Guess what we did. Math's, I would say yes but no. Reading? Nope Writing? NO NO NO well you Should've seen in the title but today we did.... skateboarding!

This was our first session but we have two sessions but only for this Friday. We had 40 minutes for one of the Sessions so in total that is 1 hour 20 minutes. We had two Coaches or Teachers named Ben and Lawrence and they were gonna teach us how to skateboard but first it's always safety first. So we had to put our helmets on for protection. This was actually one of the things I found hard because my head is so big. After that we picked a skateboard and we just had some free time to skate around. I found it hard to stand and ride the skateboard at the same time so I sat down  and used my hands to move after that we split into two groups. I was with Ben and we went to the basketball court to learn some new moves.

First we were balancing. We were balancing with one foot on the skateboard and the other in the air. Then we did two lunges, then we got into the pose in the movie Karate kid and we did a ninja kick. I like to make the sound of a ninja kicking while doing that. HI-YA! After that we started learning and practicing some skateboard moves. We started by learning the move called Tick Tack. You had to put both your feet on your skateboard use the tail to lift up the nose of the board and move it in another direction quickly. I found this challenging and almost ended up giving up but I didn't cause I am persistent (kind of). The next move we did was the snake, for this move we had to move our toes and our heels on the skateboard to move the skateboard. I didn't find this really challenging. Then after that to my memory I think we played One Wolf pack. So basically its just red light green light fused with whats the time Mr wolf.  Except were using a Skateboard. Ben was the wolf the first round and it was tied between me Brittany and Brayden

Ben chose me but I didn't want to so I chose Brittany this time but I don't think we had time to finish it. So that was the end of the first session, later on that day we had our second session. We still had the same Coaches Ben and Lawrence. We got into the groups we were in the first session and we started to do our exercise. The same thing,  balancing on one foot in the air and the other on the skateboard, then two lunges and then a Ninja kick, HI-YA! then we practiced learning our moves. Then we started to learn some new moves. I don't remember what it was called but with flipped the board upside down, put our feet under it and flip it over with your feet and land on it. I found this hard but eventually I started getting the hang of this. Then we did another version. Its basically the same thing but its sideways and you jumped backwards. Its like the leap of faith. Then we played One wolf pack I think its called but it wasn't really fun. But for the rest of the time. We had free time. My friend Farhad got hurt but besides that it turned out to be really fun.

Our Production

Ki Ora bloggers welcome to another one of my blog posts. Today I would like to talk about our production our school did. Now for those people who don't know what a production is. It's a show that tells a story and there is a cast, scenes, even props! We usually do a production about a movie. Except change it up a little,   Our production was called Jasmine and Aladdin. Here is an explanation of how the production went.

So basically Omar wants a lamp and sends Geewiz to go find this guy named Aladdin to open the cave of wonders. He finds him in a struggle with princess Jasmine and his pet cat Persia; he saves him from trouble. He was in his debt  and went into the cave of wonders with Persia and found the lamp and polished it only to find a genie. The genie allowed to grant him 3 wishes. He told him that Omar and him were big foes. Aladdin promised the genie that his last wish would be to set him free. His first wish was to travel the world,  and so the genie snapped his fingers and a magic carpet appeared. The 3 of them hopped on and they flew away.

Meanwhile back at the palace. Things were not going very well for Jasmine. The Sultan is very mad at Jasmine for running away. So he tested her skill by having professors come and give her challenges. But when you've been learning to be a princess for 20 years it was no challenge for her. Then he tells about her S.T.E.M skills which also were no match for her. Then she tells him about her dream of the world. The Sultana on her daughter's side tries to convince the Sultan to make her go traveling. But he's not convinced and he brings in the new professor of languages and then DUN DUN DUN its Omar and Geewiz. Jasmine recognizes Gee Whiz and thinks Omar is an Impostor trying to find a way to gain our trust. The Sultan got mad and apologized to Omar as he and Geewiz went out and the Sultan growled at Jasmine so she went into her room.

My thoughts and feelings on the production was I liked the production but I didn't like my role because I just stood there and did nothing in the scenes. It was really boring. I would've rather have danced than be a palace guard. Good thing we got to dance at the end. It was good that the production was a success even though Covid-19 caused us a lot of trouble. We still managed to do the production. Overall I think the production turned out to be incredibly good. I feel sad for the people who didn't get to see it.

Here are some photos of me and my friends
