Athletics Day

Hi bloggers.  Yesterday on the 19th of November,
We did our Athletics Day. It was an annual event so that means we did once every year. Our whole school participated in this event. The weather was a sunny overcast. People had fun competing together and people wanted to get into Zones. We get to know other people very well in Athletics. House points were given out to people showing respect to other people and people who have good sportsmanship.  Of course I got one ;)

My favourite event was the 200m and 400m run because I love to
run fast with my friends or my opponents. This is what we did. First I lined up with all the other 9 year old boys and went to Mrs McLellan so she could tell us what to do. She told us all the instructions. The first instruction was to stand in front of the starting line and wait for Mrs McLellan. Next when Mrs McLellan came she would say "On your marks, get set and GO!" Then we started running along the edge of the field. After that, we followed the arrow around the edge of the field. Then we would see a tire that we would run around. The next instruction was to keep running and turn where the trees. Then we would finish line and run across it to finish the race
I waited for my turn to race and then I finally had my turn to run. I thought everybody would beat me, but I was wrong. I ran the whole course and came 1st place, I made it to the semi-finals. I waited for my turn again and ran again, I came 2nd place this time Tj beat me. I somehow made it to the finals and this time I didn't do so good, I tied 5th place with martin. I still felt proud of myself. We still had some spare time left. So we did the 400 metre run. I wanted to do it, so I did. But It didn't turn out so well. I got a stitch while the 1st lap so I had to stop running. I had some rest and drank some water, I started to feel better. then the bell rang and we went back to the courts.
Here are a photo of Athletics Day

I enjoyed all the events, but the 200m and 400m was my favourite event.
I hoped you enjoyed reading this.
Have a nice day and blog ya later!

Corbans Estate Trip

Hi bloggers. Yesterday on 13th of November we went to the Corbans Estate on a school trip. It was in Henderson. We went there because we wanted to more about Pacific Islands and the Pacific Ocean.

Here is what we did.
We did 3 things, one was making flower necklaces called leis, another was drumming and the other was dancing. My favourite one was drumming because I have never drummed before.

First we got to know which drum was which. There were two kind of drums, the long and skin drum. I got to use the skin drum. Then we got to know what tune we needed to play.  We then started to play the drum. Then other people started to play. When all the people finished we finished the workshop.

I learnt how to use the long drum and skin drum. I also learnt that drums weren't for fun and were used for important messages in the kingdom of Tonga. but now there were used for entertainment and fun. We also how to make leis. It was 1-0-1 basic way to make flower necklaces and then you could make any kind of leis. We also learned a hula hula, which is the Hawaiian way to say Dance. I learnt how to say hello and bye in Pacific languages.

Here is a photo we took
I really enjoyed going to this trip, I hope you had a good time reading this.
Blog ya later and lookin forward to reading your comments.
