Biking

Talofa Lava bloggers, welcome to another blog post. Today I would like to share with you when I did biking On Tuesday.  On Tuesday we did biking because it was raining we had to wear a raincoat. We had two Coaches, John and I forgot the other coaches name. They were going to teach us how to bike. But first we had to put a helmet on because safety first. We used the four S' to help us. The Four S' were Straps, Shell, Styrofoam and Stickers. After we put our helmets on  we split into two groups whether you thought you weren't that good at biking and when you feel like your a pro and you can bike with taking both your hands of the handle. I chose that I was one of the pros because I've rode a bike before and lets just say that I can accelerate really fast... Anyways I was with John and he chose a bike for all of us. We were gonna bike but first we needed to check our ABCDQ which is a way to make sure that your bike is safe to use.

A is for Air which means you had to check your air in your tires so its all pumped up. B is for Breaks and make sure its when you press it your bike stops, C is for Chain and you make sure your chain is working and its not dirty, D is for drop and you have to hold your back tire and drop it. Do it a couple of times to make sure its making the same sound, If it didn't we had to go and get another bike, and Q is for Quick releases, We had to make sure all of our quick releases were there. There were 3 in total. I can only remember one which was on the seat. You could use it adjust your seat, After that we finally got to biking, The first thing we did was just ride on the grass because the bikes we had were dirt bikes. We went along the grass for a little bit and then we went back to the concrete and then we started to ride around in circles. Then our coach told us when he says red light you have to use your breaks and you couldn't do skids. He said to keep two fingers on the breaks and the other three on your handle bars. We did that a few times and I got the hang of it after a little bit. After that we tested if we could use our breaks on the grass and not do skids. Which is like a lot harder than on the concrete.

Then we went back on the concrete and did a slow race. We did a race but whoever came last won. We did 2 races and I didn't win either of them. I came 4th. Then we did another race but we went on the grass and we went around this blue thing you climbed on and came back. I came 4th again. Then we got into pairs and had to bike and then clap our partners hand. I got the hang of it after a few tries. Then we talked about signs. We learned how to do the right sign which meant you were turning right and the left sign which meant you were turning left and the stop sign which meant the people on your right had to stop. Then we got into 2 groups of four and we started racing. I was racing Jacob and our first race he was far ahead of me but I caught up with him. Then the other race he bet me cause I was too tired to pedal, Plus my lace got stuck in the pedal. After that we had lunch. Then we had our second session. We basically just practiced our signals then played a game.
