Matariki

Ki Ora Bloggers Today I would like to share when we celebrated Matariki yesterday on Thursday the 23rd of July. We traveled in our classes and we went in a rotation. There were 3 activities. The first one I did was a stop motion animation retelling a Matariki story. Or we could make up our own. I worked with Brayden, Farhad and Marcus and we made up one but didn't turn out good. We could either use play dough or we could draw our characters in the story. We did this until morning tea. Which was 11:00 and ended at 11:30. At the end of morning tea it was time for our 2nd activity. We had to draw Maori patterns using Maori Colors then we glue gunned it onto a frame of a kite to make a kite but sadly we couldn't fly it. We did this until lunch which was 1:00 and ended at 1:30 but then we have 20 minutes to eat our lunch so we finished at 1:50. At 1:50 we did our last activity which was making fried bread. We had to wash our hands first though. After that we started to make fried bread. First we got a bowl and then put some flour in. Then we put some water while mixing it after that we pulled all the dough out of the bowl and rolled it to stretch it. Then we cut it into four pieces. We split into four groups I was with Farhad, Brayden, Marcus and Brittany. First we rolled our dough to make it longer. Then we sliced it into 6 pieces. Then we took it to the fryer where we fried our fried bread. Then we all took one and went to Bjorn to get some toppings on. I put chocolate hazelnut peanut butter on mine but I don't like fried bread so I gave mine to someone else. We finished near the end of the school day. We cleaned up and then we went home. I hope you enjoyed my blog post. If you want you can comment below of what you liked about my blog post. Have a great day or night and blog ya later!

Cross Country 2020

Talofa lava bloggers. Welcome to another blog post. Today I would like to share my Cross Country. On Thursday 2nd of July 2020.  We did cross country. We were traveling in our year levels. I was a year five so I had to travel with all the other fives. First we went to the station were we could play on the playground or play a game. Me Brayden and Farhad used all the big blocks to build a giant Jenga tower. Braydens grandmother took a photo. We broke it down sadly. Then we were playing with the dominoes. But they wouldn't stand. Then we were playing with rings. We had to throw the rings into the pole to get points. Brayden won with five hundred points. Then the bell rang. It was time to move on. Then we were playing tennis. We had to get a partner then get a tennis racket each and one tennis ball. My partner was Brayden. Then we had to count on how many times we hit the ball. Then we added them together. Together we got one hundred and fifteen points. After that the handball rang. We moved on to playing handball. We had to get into groups of 4 then play handball. I didn't understand how to play so I wasn't that good. The hand bell rang and then we went off to play a blindfolded game. We had to get a partner then get a blindfold. My partner was Brayden and he was wearing the blind fold. Then the person without the blindfold had to guide the blindfolded person to get the most bean bag toys. We didn't win any of them. Then the hand bell rang and we went on to the warm up for the run. First we were stretching. Then we played a game of duck duck goose. Then we were cheering on the year 4's when they were running. The hand bell rang and then we were going to run. We ran, the boys went first then the girls. I came 9th in the boys. then we watched the year 6s race. A guy named Yousuf came first.  If you want here are some photos.

Chicken Sunday personal response

Talofa lava bloggers. Today I would like to share my personal response about 'Chicken Sunday' the story. Here is what we did. First our Teacher Miss Kim, read us the story named 'Chicken Sunday'. Then we had to go on a doc which was called "Personal response". Then we had to write 3 things that I was surprised about the story, 3 things I liked about the story, 3 things I didn't like in the story, 3 things that I would change in the story, 3 things it made me think about and 3 things that I didn't understand. Here is the link to my doc if you would like to read it My Personal response
We read this book because it related to racism and that is what we are learning about. From this I have learnt that no matter what we look like, we should be treated fairly and equally.

Anyways thank you for reading this blog post. I hoped you enjoyed reading my personal response. If you want you can leave a comment below or have any questions and tell me what I can work on next time. I hope you have a great day/night and blog ya later!

My reading tumble

Talofa lava bloggers. Welcome to another blog post. Today I would like to share about my reading tumble. A reading tumble is where you can choose one of the choices on our class site that our teachers have given us. Then we have to complete it during the week. When you complete it we put it on a slideshow and put a link to your work so the teacher can see what we have done. We do this all week and on Friday we should've completed all four of our tasks. Here is my slideshow of my T2 reading tumble. As you can see below on the slideshow in week 9, I did an infencing card slideshow on Monday. A Readworks book on Tuesday. I did nothing on Wednesday I was reading with the teacher. We read a book called New New Zealanders and on Thursday we didnt have reading. Then next Monday I did another Readworks book. Tuesday I was with Mrs Jones. Wednesday I was responding to a book named The proudest blue'. This book was about 2 sisters named Faizah and Asiya and it was their first day of school and also Asiyas first day wearing a hijab. It was a blue beautiful one but people keep bullying her and teasing her about it. But she just ignores them and kept playing with her friends and stayed proud. It's a really good book to me and finally on Thursday I described a character from the story The proudest blue and her name was Asiya. I have two more weeks to complete week 11 and week 12 then its the holidays.

Anyways thank you for reading my blog post and my slideshow. I hoped you enjoyed this blog post. Have a nice day/night and blog ya later!

My creative writing

Talofa lava bloggers welcome to my blog. Today I will be blogging about my creative writing. Here is what we did. Firstly we had to choose one of the pictures our teachers gave us. I chose a picture with a giant sized tadpole chasing 2 people on a speedboat. Then we needed to go on a document on our class site. We needed to plan our story in the planning space. I didn't really need to plan. Then there was a place that said "Start writing here" That's where we wrote our story. My story was about two best bros named Timmy and Tom, Tom is the older one who is 24 years old and Timmy is the younger one who is only 19. I pretended I was the storyteller. I wrote that they heard about a legend of a giant sized tadpole bigger than everything in the ocean. I can't tell you all about the story so here is a link to read my creative writing. It's not done yet but it's almost finished. Have a read, here is the link.

Swimming at Cameron Pools

Talofa lava viewers Welcome to my blog. Today I would like to share our swimming lessons at Cameron Pools. On Tuesdays and Thursday, we go to Cameron Pools to help us get our swimming skills better and better. We all go at different times. Manukau goes at 12:30. Hauraki leaves at 1:10 and Waitemata goes at 1: 45.  I go at 1: 45. We go on the bus to Cameron Pools and when we get there we're all ready to swim because we get changed at school.. At Cameron Pools, we were in separate groups. We go either in the Nan's  Pool or the big pool. I go in the Nan's Pool but this week I've been Swimming in the big Pool. I would prefer Swimming in the Nan's Pool because it's warmer and I don't like jumping in the pool cause I always make big splashes when I jump. On our first lesson in the Big Pool we had life jackets to keep us safe. Then we safely stepped into a boat and we turned around, Sat on the edge of the boat. Then we held our noses and fell in the Pool, because of the life jacket we floated up and we were all safe. After that we got out of the pool and we jumped on the edge part of the Pool. Then we all jumped in the Pool. I made a big SPLASH! into the Pool. Again my life jacket lifted me up and when we all formed a circle with us lying on our backs holding onto the person next to us jackets. Our swimming teacher pulled us forming us into a big long straight line then we held each others arm part of the jacket. Then we went in a full circle. After that while we were heading out of the Pool. We had to go under the boat  then out of it. Just a quick little lesson.
